Speakers are available for no charge on the speaker’s time for the numbered presentations listed below, with travel expenses extra for presentations made outside of the Denver Metro area. Presentations can be made on various patent related topics in Power Point, listed below are the typical presentations available, however, a custom presentation can be prepared for training on a specific patent related topic and for a given amount of time if requested. Custom presentation and training fees are $150.00 per hour for training and preparation time.
1. Basic United States Patents Short Presentation; Summary of patent rights and obligations, types of patents, requirements, contents of a patent, the patenting process, ownership, typical costs, and the purpose of patenting. Approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
2. Expanded Patents Presentation; History - European and United States (US), US patent rights, types of US patents, US patent requirements, US patent components, US patent process, patents as property, US patent costs, foreign patent filing routes, typical foreign patenting process, and typical foreign patent costs. Approximately 60 to 90 minutes.
3. Basic Patent licensing; Checklist of issues to consider, license grant, cross licensing, term, conditions, geographic issues, royalties, controls, good faith, sublicense, indemnification, infringement, termination, ongoing obligations, and maintenance. Approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
4. Basic Patent Litigation: Assessing case strength, discovery, jury and judge, experts, literal infringement, doctrine of equivalents, contributory infringement, claim interpretation, patent validity, jurisdiction and venue, injunctions, verdicts, and damages. Approximately 60 to 90 minutes.
